Epidemiology of Sexual Dysfunction in Patients with Spinal Cord Injury in Iran: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

Context: One of the changes that occur in a person and lead to change patient’s sexual desire is chronic diseases, including spinal cord injury (SCI). Objectives: This study aimed evaluate epidemiology dysfunction (SD) patients with SCI Iran by systematic review meta-analysis. Methods: In present meta-analysis, using keywords “spinal injury”, “sexual dysfunction”, “Iran” list related articles were extracted from national international databases. The search was conducted two researchers databases (SID, Magiran, Irandoc) (Web Science, PubMed, Scopus). necessary data collected specialized checklist analyzed CMA v.2.0 software. Results: result showed 183 initial search, after reviewing articles, six included meta-analysis stage. prevalence SD equal 45.9%, 95% (CI: 30.2 - 62.4). Conclusions: dissatisfaction reported be high. For this reason, it suggested do interventions improve satisfaction these patients.
